By trade I am a Gilder and frame maker. I often incorporate the skills of my craft into the art I create. I work primarily with gold leaf and medieval iconography techniques. The surfaces capture available light and reflect them back to the viewer. Carved and cast elements in each image provide surface textures and optical patterns which draw the viewer’s attention and give them pause to reflect. I also work in photography, digital and film, and use pinhole, plastic cameras and alternative printing techniques and processes. For over ten years I have melded photographic printing techniques onto gilded panels to create printed images which have an almost holographic feel.
